Associated to the ethnic majority, minorities comparatively had low commercial power and a greater crime rate. This limited the minorities from cooking food, obtaining sufficient education, nourishment, and cultural skills to battle and succeeded in mainstream professions. Because of this, Affirmative action was formulated to provide ethnic minorities a greater probability of achievement.
