Jolie can read around 14 sentences per minute of her current novel. She wants to finish her reading before the movie comes out next week. If she has 17 pages left to read and each page has about 120 sentences, how many hours should Jolie set aside to complete her reading?

14 sentences per minute....60 minutes in an hr.....14 * 60 = 840 sentences per hr. And Jolie has 17 * 120 = 2040 more sentences to read

840/1 = 2040/x...840 sentences to 1 hr = 2040 sentences to x hrs
cross multiply
840x = 2040
x = 2040/840
x = 2.43 hrs which is 2 hrs and 25.8 minutes
