Answer: There is a huge gap in literacy between the boys and girls in Africa. This is because there is an archaic belief which the fathers practiced and also passed it on to generations making it hard for some of these illetrate parents not to see the need to train their girl child to a higher level in education. They seldom believe giving her educational training is a waste of money and time as she ends up after the years in the kitchen of her husband when she get married. This has eaten into the fabrics of Africa, but the 21st century parents have seen the need to give adequate educational training to their girl child believing that what a man can do a woman is also able to do perfectly.
