The Tenth Amendment
This amendment (1791) was created to address fears that the federal government may seek to abuse its authority and states would lose their rights. It gave freedom and control to the states by establishing that the powers not delegated to the United States (the federal government) by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.
