The length of side A is 8.8 cm and length of side B is 4.4 cm and length of side C is 12.8 cm
Solution:
Let the length of side A be "a"
Let the length of side B be "b"
Let the length of side C be "c"
Side A of a triangle is twice the length of side B
a = 2b
[tex]b = \frac{a}{2} --------- eqn 1[/tex]
Side C is 4 cm longer then side A
c = 4 + a ------------- eqn 2
The perimeter is 26 cm
The perimeter of triangle is given by formula:
Perimeter = a + b + c
Where, "a", "b", "c" are the length of sides of triangle
Therefore,
26 = a + b + c
Substitute eqn 1 and eqn 2 in above
[tex]26 = a + \frac{a}{2} + 4 + a\\\\26 = \frac{2a + a + 8+2a}{2}\\\\26 \times 2 = 5a +8\\\\5a + 8 = 52\\\\5a = 52 - 8\\\\5a = 44\\\\a = 8.8[/tex]
Substitute a = 8.8 in eqn 1
[tex]b = \frac{8.8}{2}[/tex]
b = 4.4
Substitute a = 8.8 in eqn 3
c = 4 + 8.8
c = 12.8
Thus length of side A is 8.8 cm and length of side B is 4.4 cm and length of side C is 12.8 cm
