The lateral area is the area not including the base.
You have 2 sides that are 6 x 8 = 48 x 2 = 96 square feet.
One side of 4 x 8 = 32 square feet
And the top triangle = 1/2 x 4 x 6 = 12 square feet.
For lateral area you would not include the triangle at the bottom ( base).
Total Lateral area = 96 + 32 + 12 = 140 square feet.
