It represents the religious views of Buddhism.Buddhism is a spiritual tradition that preaches to avoid human suffering.Most causes of this suffering are linked to the idea of losing something which is considered valuable.Then, in the teaching You only lose what you cling to Gautama is explaining that the less you consider you actually  possess, the best.Too much attachment to one´s belongings will result in torture and pain when you are deprived of them.
