Love's search is the plot in Jane Eyre. Jane being an orphan evidently points out this, during the novel Jane is in a constant search of love.
The novel is throughout sad. This bitter search is full of difficult scenarios. Just to mention some of them, the character of Helen dies, despite what the reader might think, Miss Temple gets married, and last but not least, Mr. Rochester has a wife hidden in the attic. All these facts make the story sad and hard to go through for its main character. Like most of romantic novels, after all the tough scenarios gone through, love is finally fulfilled.
