Please HELP.
There is a building on fire! Fireman Michael and his team don’t have a long enough ladder to reach the fire. So they have to go through there extra long ladders but don’t have much time. They know that the building is 12ft tall vertical and there is 5ft of space for the ladder to fit. Know they have to figure the length of a good ladder that will reach the building. What is the length of the ladder?
Please answer really important need to pass.

Hello,

Lets solve this!

So here is the Pythagorean theorem Formula A2+B2=C2

5 two + B2 = 12 two

25 + B2 = 144

B2 = 119

Square root of B2 = Square root of 119

B ≈ ±10 feet

So the ladder has to be 10 feet on a horizontal angle from the base.

I hope that helped!

Hi There!

So we know that its 12ft. to get to the top of the building where the fire is. And the space there are going to put the ladder is 5ft. wide. You wouldn't want to put a ladder that is exactly 12ft. because the fire could either the ladder of made the firemen fall. You would want to have a laddet a foot or two smaller.

Answer - 10 or 11 feet would be most reasonable.

Hope This Helps :)
