Micah construct a rectangular prism with a volume of 360 cubic units the height of his prism is 10 units Micah claims that the base of the prism must be a square draw a base that shows his claim is incorrect

Respuesta :

Given:
rectangular prism
volume of 360 cubic units
height is 10 units

Volume = length * width * height
360 cubic units = lw * 10 units
360 / 10 = lw
36 = lw

The only measure of the sides of a square base is 6 units. 6 is the square root of 36.

To prove that the base of the prism is not a square, its measure should be

length = 9 ; 18 ; 12
width  = 4 ;   2 ;   3

V =   9 x 4 x 10 = 360
V = 18 x 2 x 10 = 360
V = 12 x 3 x 10 = 360
