if Megan starts studying at 4:10 and finishes at 5:49 then she studied for 99 minutes. I got this answer by finding how many minutes were between 4:10 and 5:00 and between 5:00 and 5:49 which was 50 minutes and 49 minutes. I then added the 2 numbers together and got a total of 99 minutes. which can also be calculated into 1 hour and 39 minutes

Simply subtract. 9 - 0 = 9.   4 -1 = 3.    5 - 4 = 1.   0 - 0 =0
