If this were an addition problem, the answer would be:
5+4+4=4+4+3
9+4=8+3
13=11
This would not be equal.
If it were subtraction:
5-4-4=4-4-3
1-4=0-3
-3=-3
This would work if this were a subtraction problem.
If it were a multiplication problem, then it would be:
5*4*4=4*4*3
20*4=16*3
80=180
This would not work, because these would not be equal.
If it were division, it would be:
5/4/4=4/4/3
1.25/4=1/3
.3125=.33
This would not be equal, so your best answer would be subtraction. :)
