so i don't understand 3rd grade made but this says "estimate the sum" estimate the sum of 265+436 but my only numbers i have to choose from is 200 thru 300 its kinda like a chart i don't get it.

You round the number to the nearest 100 :- So 265 is closer to 300 that it is to 200 so you use 300.

436 is closest to 400 then 500 so we use 400.

so the estimate is 300 + 400 = 700.
