a and b are the other two sides

If 7 and 3 are the length in inches of the angles beside the 90° angle, then
[tex]{3}^{2} + {7}^{2} = {c}^{2} \\ 9 + 49 = {c}^{2} \\ c = \sqrt{58} [/tex]
