Please help me. I dont understand.

[tex] \bf -3\frac{1}{8}+\left( -2\frac{1}{2} \right)\implies -3\frac{1}{8}+1\times \left( -2\frac{1}{2} \right)\implies -3\frac{1}{8}-2\frac{1}{2} [/tex]
subtracting a number is the same as adding the opposite of the number
for example:
7 - 6 = 1
7 + (-6) = 1
since you are subtracting 2[tex] \frac{1}{2} [/tex], it is the same as adding -2[tex] \frac{1}{2} [/tex]
so your answer should be
A) -3[tex] \frac{1}{8} [/tex] + (-2[tex] \frac{1}{2} [/tex] )
hope this helped!
