Respuesta :
n is an exponent. If that exponent is an odd number, it won't matter that c is negative cuz you can take an odd root of a negative number. If n is even and c is negative, you can't take an even root of a negative number without running into the problems of imaginary roots.
If c is a negative number, there will be answers that are real numbers only if n is odd.
For example:
if x^2 = -4, then there are no solutions that are real numbers (what number squared equals -4?). On the other hand, if we have x^3 = -8 then we do have solutions with real numbers -23 = -8 and therefore x = -2 is a real solution. Hope this helps!
