Post Chosen:
I chose the famous rock band, Asia’s album cover. The album was released in 1982. I noticed the colors were in contrast of each other. The background has dull colors, while the dragon has bright colors. The splash under the dragon is also in bright colors that contrast with ocean. The dragon and the sphere stands out in this album cover. The band’s name is in a pyramid form.
Most of the rock band’s aesthetic tend to be hardcore. Roger Dean, who created this artwork knew of Asia’s aesthetic. The titles for the album are a huge hits like, “Heat of the Moment” and “Only Time Will Tell”. These two singles “have choruses that will stick in your head like glue”, according to Keith (Abt, 2022). The hit songs with the album cover hit their target market. It is a unique art for fans of rock to collect.
